Distilling Equipment: Our Suppliers

Distilling Equipment

V-Brew specialises in providing distilling equipment to the UK market. Our team of experts (mostly Kieran) has helped supply and install equipment used in the production of spirits to a number of UK companies including most recently The Nethergate Brewery. We supply a range of equipment from across the world. One of these is Santa Efigenia based in Brazil, who in recent years V-Brew have struck up a fantastic rapport with. The esteemed manufacturing company has provided us with distilling equipment for the production of gin, rum, whisky and more.

Santa Efigenia uses many traditional production methods to produce their copper stills which is truly a thing of beauty. Their dull orange colour, towering windowed columns and steam age dials and instruments make something quite industrial and very artisan. The use of copper stills have been used since ancient times and the material is famed for its sanitary properties. Only in modern times have alternatives been available such as stainless steel.

V-Brew have worked with Santa Efigenia to help tailor stills to our customers exact specifications whilst remaining affordable in their pricing. Santa Efigenia are keen on research and development of their products and work with research centres and universities when developing new products.

Lastly Santa Efigenia have developed home distilling equipment for the hobbyist distiller. These systems start at around 40 litres. The systems can also be used as pilot stills to help develop recipes for the more established distilleries.

V-Brew has another supplier in China, NDL Craft, whose world class manufacturing facilities have received 2 Million US Dollars of investment. This supplier has supplied stills, from a volume of 50L to 5000L and more. Available products include:

The geometry and material of construction will depend on the duty and V-Brew have supplied small copper stills for rectification of gin, large double whiskey stills and tall column stills of 28 plates or more for producing “grain to glass” neutral alcohol. V-Brew can also offer continuous distillation for higher outputs.

We have trained personnel who can install distilling equipment anywhere in the UK. Our automation and control systems for many of our products are designed and developed in the UK offering the ability to customise these to your distilleries needs. We use Weintek touch screen HMIs in many of our products, these offer data tracking and recording capabilities so you can keep track of your products from start to finish.

Automation has a number of benefits including reducing the time required for processes by removing the manning requirements of machines. It is useful for keeping compliance, regulation and audit trails. Lastly, all the information can help with decision making in your distiller .You can read more about our automation and future vision of the brewery industry in our previous article: “The Future Brewer

For any new ventures V-Brew can offer recipe development services as well as project management and extended training. Our recipe development is aided by our in-house pilot still, which has been loaned to distilleries in the past to help in training and development.
