History of Pasteuriser
People are constantly striving to learn how to extend the shelf life of products, while at the same time developing technologies that do not in any way affect their beneficial properties. Pasteurisation is one of the most widely used food processing techniques, the aim of which is to significantly reduce the number of pathogens in a food so that it is as safe as possible to eat.

In the 1860s, French scientist Louis Pasteur discovered that heating beer and wine for a short time and then cooling them down prevents them from spoiling or turning sour – a process known as HTST (High Temperature Short Time) Pasteurisation. This design is commonly referred to as Flash Pasteurisation. Another common method used in the pasteurization of beer is Tunnel Pasteurization, where canned or bottled beer is showered with hot water for a period of time and then cooled.
A Tunnel Pasteurizer operates under the principle of appertisation. It is a method of preserving food for long-term storage, named after its inventor, Nicolas Appert. Food is sterilised by heat treatment in an airtight container and then hermetically sealed.

Each flash pasteuriser is individually made by the manufacturer according to the specific needs of our customers.
It can be equipped with an electric heater, steam, oil or gas fired burner. The pasteuriser features a user-friendly touchscreen interface which automatically controls pasteurization temperature and continuous recording for full traceability together with high heat recovery for low operating cost. Cleaning is quick and easy after use with the help of the cleaning program. All components are placed on a stainless steel frame mounted on levelling feet.
If due to any problem, the pasteurising temperature is lower than the required one, an automatically operated by-pass valve sends the product back to the puffer tank, thus, preventing any microbial contamination of the final product.

Main Advantages
Continuous PE-Control
The formulas for determining the pasteurisation effect, are based on the defined product. The control system regulates the heating temperature according to the desired pasteurisation units. The residence time in the holding tube and the size of this last one, which is designed for each system, remain constant. Production-relevant data is documented via an integrated recording system. This can be used for documentation purposes.
Low energy consumption due to heat recovery
The pasteuriser is equipped with a very effective plate apparatus. Due to the selected energy recovery rate of 90 or 93 % in the respective standard version of the plant type, the energy input during production can be kept very low. This sets standards for the saving of running operating costs.
Optimized product outlet temperature for filling processes
In filling processes, it is important to keep the product temperature at the optimum of the defined filling temperature. The system automatically adjusts to the desired product output temperature.
The advantages of flash pasteurization compared to conventional tunnel pasteurizer are:
• kill-off is assured independent of the type of microbe
• less space is required
• lower capital and operating costs
• the PU input is finite and under closer control, than it is in tunnel pasteurization
• less of an impact on flavour than tunnel pasteurization.
